Ms. Kirsten Lindhurst

Director of Choral Activities,
Anderson High School

Ms. Kirsten Lindhurst began her career as choral director at Anderson High School in 2018. Previously, Ms. Lindhurst was the choir director at Allen East High School for 3 years, where she taught grades 6-12. She established a competitive show choir program at Allen East, the Royale Blues, and a middle school non-competitive show choir, Mini Blues. Prior to Allen East, Ms. Lindhurst directed a high school show choir for 1 year while finishing her senior year.

Ms. Lindhurst grew up in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, where her family still lives. She was a member of the Olentangy Keynotes Show Choir for 4 years, and went on to be a member of the Singing Collegians Show Choir at Heidelberg University for 4 years. She also choreographed for 3 different groups, 1 at the middle school level, and 2 at the high school level. Ms. Lindhurst graduated from Heidelberg University in 2015, earning her Bachelor degree in Vocal Music Education and a minor in German.

When Ms. Lindhurst is not at school, she can be found hanging out with her family, boyfriend Jake, or her cat, Scout. She loves to travel around the world and has made it a goal to be on every continent. Her favorite place she has traveled to is Greece, but the most rewarding travel experience was a trip to Kenya, where she taught school children music.

Ms. Lindhurst is very excited to be at Anderson this year and is looking forward to working with each choir. She hopes to inspire and watch students grow musically.

Mrs. Hannah Olson-Wallace

Assistant Director of Choral Activities,
Anderson High School

Mrs. Hannah Olson-Wallace is a first-year teacher, having just graduated in May of 2017 from Ball State University. While working toward her degree in Vocal and General Music Education, Mrs. Olson-Wallace had the many opportunities, including Student Teaching, and doing field work at Anderson High School with Mrs. Wood. It was then that she realized she would like to continue working with the wonderful staff and students of this  choral program.

In Muncie, Mrs. Olson-Wallace is also the Church Administrator for High Street United Methodist Church. In her time at High Street, she has also acted as the Choral Scholar, Nursery Attendant, and Music Director of the Youth Choir. She has since consolidated her positions to just Administrator.

Mrs. Olson-Wallace is originally from the small town of Peru, Indiana. She now lives in Muncie with her two great friends and four BEAUTIFUL cat babes, Franz Schubert, Norma Jean, Wicket the Ewok, and Darla. In her *very little* free time, she loves to be with her family and cats, travel, cook, and sing show tunes.

Now that she is back at AHS permanently, Mrs. Olson-Wallace is excited to watch each of the choirs grow as ensembles while guiding and mentoring the students through music. She is not just a choir teacher, but an educator who fosters creativity while allowing self-expression, boosts self-confidence while teaching self-discipline, exalts the human spirit while heightening school spirit, and she develops abstract thinking, problem solving, and higher-order thinking skills while enhancing the quality of life. She does this all through music and the love of her students.
